About Northwind

About Northwind Arts Center

Northwind Arts Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the arts in our region by sponsoring educational programs, lectures, readings, and workshops, and by providing juried and invitational venues for displaying the work of regional artists, both visual and literary.

Operation

Northwind Arts Center operates as two art galleries, with space available for art activities rental when the galleries are closed.

  • The Exhibit Gallery is used for scheduled monthly exhibits. Most of the art in each exhibit is for sale and prices are clearly posted next to each artwork.
  • The Showcase Gallery is used for showcasing the work of local artists. The Showcase Gallery is currently closed during our renovation process in our new building. Information will be supplied when it is available.

Northwind Arts Center is open and staffed by volunteers Noon – 5 pm Thursday – Monday. The Center is also open during Port Townsend Art Walk evening on the first Saturday of the month, and for special events. Art talks, demonstrations, and artist workshops are often scheduled in conjunction with shows.

Mission

Our mission is to cultivate, promote, and encourage the arts; to showcase and serve artists; and to foster arts education and appreciation for the greater community.  We sponsor arts activities for young and old.
