In January the expanded Northwind Arts Center Artist Showcase gallery was enhanced with new flooring, lighting improvements, and a good coat of paint.

All the artists have hung new works, so come to the gallery between noon and 5 pm, Thursday through Monday to  enjoy the work of many artists in this spacious display area.

The new flooring in here really brightens the room, and will be a big improvement for clean up after art workshops or special events at when food is served.

Also notice that the Center benefits from the visibility of the newest sculpture for sale at the gallery: the outdoor art piece “Portal” by John Liczwinko.

Northwind Arts Alliance announces a workshop space will be available by reservation for a nominal fee at the expanded gallery space, Artist Showcase. Tables, chairs, small kitchen, large sink and bathroom facilities are available. Northwind Arts Alliance has expanded to provide two adjacent exhibition spaces. The newer area is the Artist Showcase gallery. The Arts Center, a non-profit organization “connecting the arts with the community”, add an additional 800 square feet in 2009. This new space is dedicated to showcasing local artists work, and is also be available for workshops and other arts events.

“An expansion into the adjoining space next to our gallery was a great opportunity.  The space will allow us to offer artists’ works in a spacious, convenient location.  Port Townsend has gained a strong reputation for wonderful art galleries and talented artists. In spite of economic uncertainty and a challenging ferry situation, people always look to the arts to elevate their spirits, and we will offer an inspiring selection of art.”

Join us during Art Walk on the first Saturday of each month from 5:30 to 8 pm for the openings of each new exhibit in the original gallery space, and also see the latest works displayed in the Artist Showcase . The art center and gallery is open Wednesday through Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) from noon to 5 PM.
