Show Publicity for Artists and Curators

Northwind will help you ensure your exhibit is well attended, but you and your curator must work together to provide the publicity material. It is essential that you and your contact/curator begin the publicity process at least eight weeks in advance of the event.

It is important that you also invite your own contacts to the show opening and other events.

We recommend you use the form below to document your show so that it will be complete. If you do not choose to use our form, you must provide us the same information in electronic form that we can use, and submit it by email.

Using our Form: Please open the form and save a copy on your computer. Then complete the saved form using Microsoft Word or a compatible program, and email your completed document to the board member responsible for the Northwind publicity. Be sure to attach good quality jpeg publicity images to your email!

Publicity Images (gallery or workshop related)

Note that images must be SEPARATELY attached to the e mail, and of sufficient quality to be used in printed materials and black and white newspaper ads. This means that the images must be 300 dpi at the size they will be printed. Expect file sizes about 1 MB or larger. Additional low resolution copies of images are not required but are helpful for email and online publicity, which includes the newsletter, the web site, Facebook, etc.

It is critical that we correctly attribute all art works to the proper artist! It is helpful to submit image files with names based on the work title plus the artist’s name. In addition, please include a separate list of images (work title, artist, file name). For solo shows, try to provide three good quality images (of three different works); for a two artist show, two images each is sufficient. With more than two artists, try to provide one good image from each artist. For juried shows, we want at least three images as soon as possible, and images of the show award winners.

If you choose to embed your images in the Word forms, please ALSO include the attached files for those images. Attached images may be in jpeg or tiff format. Mac users: please make sure the appropriate file suffix (.doc, .jpg, or .tif) has been appended to your files.
