Join Susan Hazard in this fun, rewarding and enjoyable workshop. Susan has been painting almost exclusively with alla prima (all at once) oil and palette knife technique since 1992. The wet-into-wet technique is spontaneous and a very fast method of painting, suitable for all levels of painters. You will receive individual instruction at your level of skill – no previous experience is necessary. This painting class objective is to escape the details! Palette knife painting uses the responsive buttery thickness of the oil paint to express and capture your impression of color, light and movement.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California in Santa Barbara. She teaches oil and watercolor classes for adults in Ireland and the United States. In 2005 she moved to Port Townsend where she opened and operated Courtyard Gallery for two years.

Susan is currently a member and President of the Port Townsend Gallery and she can’t believe she is actually organizing the Art Port Townsend Art Studio Tour for a third year in a row.
