My paintings are directly influenced by the life I lead, living on an island in the Salish Sea, sailing, rowing and maintaining traditional boats. In my paintings I try and emphasize the connection people have with the sea and the boats that take them over this magical fluid substance.
I am a nationally recognized watercolorist with works in collections across the US and in Canada. I studied painting at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, and the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, Ca. As a lifelong sailor as well as painter, it was only natural to want to paint the wonderfully varied and interesting boats that are found in the Salish Sea. They provide a constant source of inspiration. I live on Whidbey Island with my husband, 3 dogs, 5 boats and a big garden! I specialize in marine paintings and commissioned portraits executed in traditional transparent watercolor. I was the 2012 Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival poster artist.
