Art Port Townsend Studio Tour 2017 Demonstration

Victoria will be demonstrating the process of creating encaustic prints with pigmented beeswax and sumi-e paper on a professional heated aluminum palette. She will show this fast, fun and fluid process by using a variety of strokes and tools to manipulate the warmed wax. The artist then lays down a sheet of sumi-e paper and once it makes contact and is lifted up, an original one-of-a-kind print is produced. This technique creates gentle surprises resulting in beautiful abstracted images, patterns and representational images.
