2013 Venture to Take Risk
Painting is my active response to the world, past and present. I create my feelings and thoughts in painting. The process and its result move me; they give me tremendous joy. Inspiration comes from visible objects or concepts, animated or lifeless. My creative process begins with the end in mind. However, my work often takes its own course, producing the unexpected in a magical transition. I work with water-based media. Currently I am experimenting with new surface such as hand-made papers, fabric, wood, and metal.
In 1962 I came to the U.S. After studying library science and linguistics, I worked for research libraries across the country. Throughout my librarian career, I have deepened my appreciation for human heritage, not bound by time or place. My husband, Eckart, and I moved to Sequim, WA in 2004. My paintings, watercolor, mixed media and acrylic, are in private collections in the U.S. and abroad.
