4-11-17 Arts to Elders – Al Harris Trio

2:30-4:30 pm Tuesday, April 11 - Al Harris Trio jazzes up Discovery View Apartments

at 1051 Hancock, Port Townsend. The Al Harris Trio performs pieces from the Great American Songbook - including tunes from Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Richard Rogers, Harold Arlen, and others.

Al Harris directs Adventures in Music, a program sponsored by the Port Angeles Symphony that tours elementary schools, introducing different facets of music. He has taught piano and improvisation for the past 25 years and formerly wrote, arranged and produced music for radio, television and films.

He is joined by Craig Buhler, director and first tenor sax with Sequim’s Stardust Big Band and co-director of Port Townsend annual Northwest Big Band Workshop, and director of big bands for Port Angeles’ Camp Heebie Jeebies.

Jessie Lee sings at Peninsula College jazz events and in several other venues. She is endowed with a smoky, low-range quality to her voice and can also belt a song like Bette Midler.

The concert is presented by Arts to Elders in conjunction with the Northwind Arts Center and is sponsored by the Port Townsend Arts  Commission.

Everyone is encouraged to attend. There is no admission fee. Please join us in a delightful afternoon of music.
