PT Shorts

The PT Shorts program, originally founded by local luminary Don White, and developed by Port Townsend Arts Commission (PTAC), has been produced by Key City Public Theatre (KCPT) since 2006. PT Shorts are free programs of dramatic readings of contemporary literature, read by critically acclaimed authors, actors, and good orators.

KCPT and Northwind Arts Center partner to provide this long-running program as part of the Northwind Reading Series. Performances are in Northwind’s downtown gallery location. Our program has featured short works of fiction and creative non-fiction from writers such as Sarah Vowell, George Saunders, Sheila Bender, Greg Bear and Dave Eggers, among others.

About the PT Shorts Program

KCPT and Northwind Arts Center promote outreach activities that embrace opportunities for emerging and novice artists to learn from experienced, professional artists practicing their craft. PT Shorts gives platform to budding performers by nurturing artistic risk and embracing creative expression through literature readings.

It is a program that engages, enhances, and inspires creative artists to connect with each other and our community. Both performers and attendees of these theatre performances may be inspired to further explore the performing arts.

Some performances will have the author in attendance -- please check with Key City Public Theatre for more information.
